Hey life trackers, it’s been a minute! Hope you guys are still staying safe and loving yourselves extra each day!

I have been getting a lot of questions from new naturalists in my Instagram dms especially my high school leavers asking about what hair products to buy to start their journey. Since I’ve got you guys😚, this post is all about the basic things you need to start a healthy hair journey. More like a “natural hair starter kit”.

Sulphate-free shampoo.
Moisturizing conditioner.
Deep conditioner (extremely important).
Leave in conditioner.
Shea butter.
Castor oil (preferably Jamaican black castor oil).
Avocado oil.
Coconut oil.
Hair bonnet.
Scalp massager.
Wide tooth comb.
Spray bottle.
Water.
Patience.

A sulphate free shampoo will help clean your scalp and will not strip your hair of it natural oils.
A moisturizing deep conditioner helps to reintroduce moisture into the hair.
Same goes for the deep conditioner. However, it is very necessary to get a deep conditioner as it does more and extra of what the conditioner does. It helps to keep your hair moisturized throughout the week.

The combination of the leave in conditioner, avocado or coconut oil and the Shea butter is great for locking in moisture.
Note that coconut oil does not work for everyone. For some people, it leaves their hair dry instead of moisturizing it. Give it a try and see how it works for you.

Hair bonnet should be a staple in your haircare regimen because it must be on your hair every night to avoid breakage. If you prefer a satin scarf or pillow, go for it.

Scalp massager should also be a staple tool. Helps with blood flow on your scalp.

Wide tooth comb helps with easy and safe detangling of the hair.
The spray bottle can be used for your pre pooing and daily/ weekly moisturizing.

And my favorite, water. Water should be your best friend.
It is the best moisturizer your hair needs. Do not abuse it but make sure your hair doesn’t lack it. Anytime your hair feels dry just spray a little of it on your hair using your spray bottle.

Always remember that growing a healthy natural hair takes time. you need to have patience for your hair and enjoy the journey. like i always say, it is called a journey for a reason.
